Residents of the Dominican Republic are known for their friendly hospitality and their kind nature.
It is a multicultural country with more than 10 million inhabitants. Two-thirds of the population live in towns. About one third of the population is under the age of 14 and 5% is beyond the age of 65. More than half of the active population is employed in public service and about one third in agriculture.
